How To Replace The Throttle Control On A TPS25 Backpack Sprayer

The Tomahawk 5 Gallon Gas Power Backpack Sprayer has a throttle control located on the side of the backpack sprayer. The side throttle allows you to easily adjust your engine speed for more sprayer power. The throttle lever is easily accessible and convenient to use. If your throttle control is not operating as it should, it could be time to replace it. 

Follow these steps to learn how to replace the throttle control on your backpack sprayer:

 

What You Will Need:

Instructions:

Step 1:

Set the throttle lever to idle.

Step 2:

Use (2) 10mm wrenches to unscrew the (2) bolts that secure the throttle lever on the backpack. 

Step 3:

Pull both kill switch wires out.

Step 4:

Twist the knob on the outside of the air filter cover to remove cover.

Step 5:

Push the throttle cable forward, releasing the bead.

Step 6:

Push the throttle cable up.

Step 7:

Pull the old throttle cable out of the carburetor. 

Step 8:

Feed the new throttle cable through the carburetor and into the slot.

Step 9:

Install the air filter cover and use the knob on the outside of the air filter cover to secure in place. 

Step 10:

Reattach the kill switch wires to the throttle.

Step 11:

Secure the throttle lever on to the backpack with the (2) screws. 

 

Now that your new throttle control is properly installed, your backpack sprayer is ready to use!
