How To Replace A 4-Bolt Mount Recoil Starter On A TPS25 Backpack Sprayer

The Tomahawk 5 Gallon Gas Power Backpack Sprayer is powered by our Tomahawk 1.8 HP 2 Stroke Engine. To start up the engine, you will need to pull the recoil starter.

NOTE: The 4-bolt mount recoil starter fits 2019 and newer TPS25 models.

The recoil starter is located on the front of the backpack, centered between the engine and the fuel tank. If the recoil cord breaks, gets stuck, or becomes difficult to pull, you will need a replacement.

Installing a new recoil starter is hassle-free, here's how:

What You Will Need:

Instructions:

Step 1:

Use a 4.5mm Allen wrench to remove the (4) screws on the corners of the recoil starter.

Step 2:

Remove the old recoil starter.

Step 3:

Attach the new recoil starter.

Step 4:

Use the 4.5 mm Allen wrench to tighten the (4) screws on the corners of the recoil starter to secure in place.

Your backpack sprayer is now ready for use!
