The Tomahawk 5 Gallon Gas Power Backpack Sprayer is powered by our Tomahawk 1.8 HP 2 Stroke Engine. To start up this engine, you will need to pull the recoil starter.
NOTE: The 3-bolt mount recoil starter fits TPS25 models from 2012 through 2018.
The recoil starter is located on the front of the backpack, centered between the engine and the fuel tank. If the recoil cord breaks, gets stuck, or becomes difficult to pull, you will need a replacement.
Installing a new recoil starter is hassle-free, here's how:
What You Will Need:
- Backpack Sprayer (TPS25)
- Recoil Starter
- Allen Wrench
Instructions:
Step 1:
Use an Allen wrench to remove the (3) screws on the original recoil starter.
Step 2:
Remove the old recoil starter.
Step 3:
Attach the new recoil starter.
Step 4:
Use an Allen wrench to tighten the (3) screws on the new recoil starter to secure in place.
Now that your new recoil starter is installed and secured, simply pull the cord and get your backpack sprayer starting!
